I'm at Lowes in North Vernon IN making a delivery this morning. Once I get empty, it's hometime for me until Tuesday. Y'all keep the roads hot while I'm chillin at the house with momma.

Day 2 of orientation in the books. Pretty much flew by. Discussed some of the procedures dealing with trip sheets, etc., got our company ID's, and a few other things. Definitely some minutiae here that most folks won't have to deal with in other companies that are a little more high techish but nothing that just a little time learning to acclimate to the system won't solve. I am sure I will be pestering my two ex Cretans for help in the beginning while I am learning the Poly ropes:) All in all I am very pleased with everything thus far. Hoping my truck is ready to roll tomorrow so I can fill it up with my stuff and be ready to head to Henderson on Friday morning.

Great to hear the good news about Poly. My man is thinking of joining them but also concerned about it sounding "too good to be true." Please post an update as soon as you can. He's needing to make a decision in the next couple days. Thank you and be safe out there. 'Preciate ya driver!

    Thanks db.

Third day down. Spent the day mainly meeting folks in different departments, payroll, outbound and back haul dispatchers among others. Everyone seemed real pleasant. Had a nice lunch with a few of them. The old freight shaker is ready to roll. I picked up some spare fluids and a light/fuse/splicer care package as well. Was able to bobtail over to the hotel tonight and load up my stuff. The four other drivers have loads ready to go for tomorrow and mine is supposedly in the works since I am the only one heading westward.

The main cat over the drivers said they were looking to get up to 325 drivers or so. Currently about 285 with our group and they have another 5 coming in for orientation next week. I feel real fortunate to have been selected to join the fold and just hoping everything works out as well as I am hoping.

Hey folks! Again, I'm so glad to read these positive comments about Poly! My fella submitted his application this evening online. We are praying they call him up and invite him to join. I'd love to see him with the next orientation class. He's a dedicated, safe, and hard working driver and just wants a good company to call home for the long haul. He's so fed up with companies that take advantage of a driver who's willing to do what's needed, cover their butts in a pinch, and yet show him no respect in return. He doesn't ask for much...just keep him rolling and in safe equipment. He doesn't even demand lots of home time. He wants to run, make a reasonable pay, and be appreciated. If we were filthy rich, we'd buy our own rig! Until the Hoosier Lottery bestows that upon us, he'll continue to make the best of any situation.
If any of you have pull at the company, we'd be so grateful for a good word in his favor. Have a great night and God Bless! :biggrin_25519:

    [IMG]Truck-n-Techs previous comment:

"Can a 25 year veteran driver add a comment? I have been driving longer than a few on here have been alive. In all that time, I have met 4 drivers who were truly happy with their jobs. I don't mean painting on a happy face. I am talking about a driver who is relaxed, confident, and friendly, because he is so free of stress. Out of those 4 drivers, 3 of them drove for Poly. That has to count for something."

That's amazing and wonderful to see. I hope my driver is accepted!

None of us has any pull. But if he has a clean MVR & a good CSA score he has a very good chance.
