As a general rule I would say on the longer trips leaving Grand Prairie 7-14 days. on the shorter trips it is 2-3 days, before returning to Grand Prairie.

So does the Guy who lives in Vegas still have to come to GP to turn in his paper work or does he just report to the terminal in Nevada and he get's paid?

It depends on where you live. If you live in the DFW area, you could get home almost every week. I live right outside of Louisville KY and I usually stay out 3 weeks and then take a week off. Some of the drivers here call me part timer because I take off a week each month. I love their TO policy here and I take full advantage of it. I still end up making more $ at the end of the month here at Poly than I did at Crete. At Crete, I only got 2 34hr resets per month at the house.

We can all turn in our paperwork at any terminal. By waiting to turn it in till you return to your home terminal your stop count continues.

Let's just say I hope to never have a wreck as I will probably get pummeled by a lot of stuff:) I put both mattresses on the bottom so all the things just sit down in the bunk pretty well barring a major stopping event. I think I will work on something though to try to keep things situated a little better as the thought of a microwave crushing my skull isn't very pleasant.

Another easy day behind the wheel. Pulled up in Baker City, OR tonight and cooked up some vittles while listening to the baseball game. Another easy day lined up tomorrow with about 380 miles left to customer. These shorter days don't hurt as much now with the increase of pay:)

    Ralph4159 and jdrentzjr Thank this.

It is a bit different than any other place I have seen. 48 CPM and then they put $59 per day over into per diem. So, for example, take my last week: I ran 3303 miles x .48= $1585.44. I was on the road all last week so per diem is $59 x 7= $413. On my pay statement, I will be taxed on $1585.44 - $413 = $1172.44. If you want to make the per diem on CPM basis, well it would vary week to week according to how many miles you ran. In the above case it works out to .125 CPM per diem. If I only ran 2500 miles it works out to .165 CPM. So you can see, since the per diem rate is fixed at $59/day, the number of miles run during the week affects the portion of your pay that is non taxable.
