Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

I know the big drawback with Poly is in getting the trucks repaired. Does the Cottage Grove location have a shop where the truck can be repaired? I was thinking it would be an advantage if I could get the truck serviced there when I'm on home time and not lose as many hours on the road.

By the way, sorry about the barrage of posts on the last couple pages of this thead. I'm currently doing a reset in picturesque Dubuque, IA, and there isn't much to do around here.

 

I do not like paper logs! LOL Other then that it's just like this thread says it would be. Paperwork is no where near as bad as they said it would be. I got a good truck too. Except for the a/c. I will get that looked into soon enough. Who ever had this truck took good care of it. So I am all smiles....... rollin.....

 

Kinda figured it was... it actually showed up on the outbound slip with no set date or time. To bad I can't go to s a ms till Monday morning.... grrr

 

They have only one shop.... GP. That also is not as bad as they make it out to be. What I was told and didn't ask. There was a recent change in the shop. If you have hors and there is loads. You will be put to the front. If your on a reset. .... or not on the board.. well you get the idea.

Oh ya ....... congrats on the application! Just so you know. Orientation starts on tuesdays.

 

Thanks FL. The shop in GP sounds like the one at Roehl's terminal in Gary, IN. The shop there is slow because they are really busy, due to the location. People complain about it, but they actually do a decent job, all things considered.

I was pleasantly surprised by our shop this past Tuesday. Hope it's a sign of things to come.

 

HeHe! I just got parked for the evening. Figured I better get my popcorn ready as well. Guess I can start with two easy ones. They are...not everyone has the same experience with everything all the time at Poly. You might have some good experiences with the shop and then you might get something else this forum doesn't allow us to post. You are new...not being Debbie downer...just saying...let's give some things some time. I'm not going to bash on the shop. Just remember your good thoughts when it's YOU broke down and not making the money and so on. Much easier to comment when things are going good. Besides, we have to have something to complain about every once in a while. The heading of this Thread still holds so true for me. However, I'm not ready to hand out our shop the "Shop of the Year award" just yet. Anyways, glad things are shaping up well for you so far. Continued good luck to you and hope we all enjoy our Popcorn. Thanks for the info. from your Posts and take care out there.

 

Oh I'm sure that day will come...... hopefully not for a long while. .....
