If you live close to Publix DC, or Sam's DC on or above I4 you should be ok.

A real nice week. Knocked out 3315 miles through yesterday for my 7 days out from the house. Finished up the San Antonio load this afternoon and now sitting at Pol-Tex to get loaded in the morning for a return to GP and a likely reset at my buddies over Sunday for some t-bone grilling:) Have not decided on whether to change trucks or not as I should have some time to move everything over, guess it depends on what the mechanics say in regard to fixing the electrical problem and a few other things that need worked on.

From where I sit in miles now and wanting to be home on the 29th looks like it will be a 10500-11000 ish month with 7 days off which ain't too shabby. Guess a lot will depend on what I can get out of GP on Monday and then back for my home trip load. All in all real happy with things thus far. Average miles per trip over 1000, virtually no QC to deal with or for that matter people in general, working APU that has allowed my to cook virtually everything in my truck and nice duckets in my bank account:) Hope things keep on rolling well.

Sounds like you had a very good week and a pretty good month. I understand drivers are paid once they get back to a Poly facility and turn in their load information. So in short, pay isn't done until you get back into a Poly facility. Could be out several days. So, I have two questions about that part of the job. How long after loads are turned in do you receive the settlement pay? Also, do they just pay as soon as you turn stuff in or is there a cutoff day for each week? Example: You turn in a load on Tuesday and another on Friday. Would you receive one pay settlement for that week or two? In addition if you turned in 10 days worth of loads on a Wednesday...would you be paid that Wednesday or the following Friday? Just confused about how the pay system settles out. I'm certain that is covered in Orientation but I've been wondering how it's done. Just thought I'd ask since I've not understood that part about how one is paid on Poly's system. Thanks!

Payroll cutoff is Sunday afternoon at Grand Prairie and 1730 on Friday at Cottage Grove and at Henderson. As long as you turn in a trip(s) before the cutoff at one of those locations, you are paid the next Friday. We have payroll every Friday, but like you said, sometimes we are away from a yard longer than a week at a time. So sometimes, you may go a couple weeks without a check. Poly does allow for advances on completed trips ($1000 or half of run mileage pay whichever is less) if you miss a check and need to send money home for bills.

Oh that answers all my questions on that stuff. Makes more sense to me now. Thanks for clearing that up a lot more. Sounds a little better now. I can make that work just fine. :)

The only prob I foresee with the pay thing with me, is I have child support taken out every week.

That is going to be a tough one Jezter. The company usually sets up the child support according to how you are paid. Weekly or Bi weekly and probably even monthly. Now what you can do. Is pay the child support that you owe directly to the Attorney's General office on weeks that you are not regularly scheduled. You already know how much you owe per month so explaining to the Attorney's General office about your not guaranteed pay periods is something you guys can work out. Now you know how the ex spends money and if she goes through it real fast then its probably better to find a company who has a more stable pay period.

Well the old a/c went out on me while in Houston so a pretty sweaty day rolling back to GP. Checked to see what trucks might be available and only 3 were listed (1 Freightliner, 1 International and 1 Volvo.) I went to look at them and only the Volvo was there. It had just had some work done on it and the PM. Someone had left it a little trashed out but I cleaned her up and moved my stuff in which took about 4 hours, I travel heavy:) Lots of storage in this thing which is nice and also a different transmission which will take a little getting used to but overall real happy with it thus far as everything seems to be functioning well.

Went out to eat with 4 other drivers this afternoon which was nice and also met two other friendly drivers down in Pol Tex. Everyone has been really helpful with questions and just in general in my limited time here. Stuck here until Monday I suppose as no loads available until then.

is polys shop that bad when the truck breaks you have to change trucks? i travel real heavy spending 5-8 weeks on road before going home. Takes alot ot work for me to change trucks.
got a top shelf 670 volvo now . and i hate changing trucks anway. i move in i like to stay. how many volvos do they have? Only reason i am trying to make this move is for the $$$$$$$ still hope they call soon but worry the move wont be worth it. if they do i plan on staying with them 10-12 years till i retier Have been with this company 11yrs now so you know its a hard move
