Navistar is selling the hell out of the last of their trucks that don't require DEF. Should be selling Cummings equipped ProStars around the first of the year.

I have to get DEF for the truck I drive now. It's definitely more hassle than units that don't require it. Lots of places have it at the pumps now but it's still a hassle to mess with. Still don't understand why they have it set-up to pump last. Needs to be the first item to pump. Some trucks have the DEF on the wrong side of the truck. Major hassle on those models. I used to drive one with DEF tank on the wrong side. Drivers complained every time I had to fill the DEF tank. Glad I got out of that truck. Look forward to driving a truck that doesn't require DEF.

hey guys thanks for the info on here, have some questions about poly, everything looks right up my alley with them but how does the hometime work when freight picks up? do they bug you at home to come back early? i ask because during most of my hometime i go out of town. I live between the walmart dc in johnstown ny and the target dc in amsterdam ny, is this a good area to get home? i dont mind staying out 3 weeks if i can get a good week or 10 days off after, in the winter months hometime isnt that big of deal for me but in the summer it would be great to work 3 weeks and get a week off,is that possible? once again i dont mind being out on the road i just cant do the 3 weeks out 3 days off thing,i need some quality time to recharge. again thanks for the info

If your average weekly mileage is 2k or more, you can utilize the time off policy all you want. TO Policy: up to 7 BUSINESS days off between runs. TO does not count weekends or holidays. i.e. You arrive home on Wednesday you aren't required to leave on next trip till the following Monday. (you would be off Thrs. & Fri., the wknd doesn't count, Mon.-Fri., the wknd doesn't count, then leave on next trip Mon.. Plus, if a holiday falls on one of the weekdays at home it won't count, so you wouldn't have to leave till Tues.. If you can afford that much time off.)

I've personally utilized this TO Policy several times in my short period at Poly. No problems or phone calls either time.

Given your location I think you could do well at Poly. Getting you home should not be an issue.

    Good luck.

This may or may not be the current case, as they have revampt their insurance coverage since you were here. Then again, none of us posters to this thread uses the available insurance. So we have no experience as to how good or bad it may be.

I like the sound of that Home Time policy. That's much better than what I get where I work now. Look forward to getting more time at home on the Holidays as well. Thanks for the information on the policy. :)

I'm sure I'll get all the information I need in orientation as I posted the other day. I'm going to switch to my wife's insurance on Monday. My insurance will be good until the end of the month. My wife's insurance is extremely high so hope the insurance at Poly won't be that bad. Thanks!

Just FYI, there are other options for health insurance besides what a company or the government offers. Search Faith Based Insurance

thanks for the info. a few last questions: how often do you get to choose from multiple loads?, and it looks like poly does alot of longer runs which i like, but was wondering if anyone is doing shorter runs, one of the big reasons im interested is that it is hard to find a company doing longer hauls that also pays good mlg pay these days. thanks again i will most likely put an app in an hope they are hiring.

The higher you are on the outbound list the better your options for loads. This can be determind by various factors. Suffice it to say you should get more long loads than short loads.
