jd , I know I read the other night an earlier post or reply to a question from you. It entailed the per diem , why does this look like double dipping that comes back on the driver? I know I read your take on it and can't find it now , but everything you were saying had me skeptical also. Have you gone through a tax period with them yet? If so , how did it go for you as for the IRS. If not how much are you setting aside weekly to be on the safe side ?

The rock and the hard place is just , the fact I'm set up orientation with Shaffer for next Monday in Lenoir City Tn , and today Ed called me for the phone interview. He said it goes to management from there. I'd absolutely hate to get a call during orientation , but been out of work all month. Can't decline on Shaffer hoping for Poly , then never get the call from management for the face to face interview . Know what I mean?

I'm not counting the eggs as Chickens. I had 2 minor backing brainfarts in early 2011 , well 1 mnor and 1 i kinda crunched the r/s fuel tank. No breach , no spill , just real stupid and on private property , 3 days after getting corrective lenses with bifocals.

The first one was that petro in NLR at 1 AM , 3 blind side spots open and the pilot was full . after getting out the third time I moved back 10 more ft or so, stopped and got out to look, went to the back.
Back/R was against the Front/L corner of the trk on my right. Brand new Bumper on a privately owned KW like 10 yrs old , pushed corner in about an inch , we pulled it out exchanged info , and a claim for a new bumper was submitted... $1500 , I figure maybe you guys have knowledge of how they are on these stupid little things that only prove one human , but not great big loses. My CSA is pretty good , a seat belt violation in October of 2010. That's it Dac is clean... I worry about the two idiot moments though. How is management on things like this , anyone know?

Well after getting stuck in Tulsa until this morning I got unloaded early and picked up a little ways north in Claremore and rolled down to Katy, TX. Deliver early in the morning and suspect I will be headed over to Pol-Tex but as of yet no word. Need a few solid days to get up over 10K miles this month so hopefully something good tomorrow.

I haven't been through a full tax season yet. The one month from last year didn't affect my taxes last year. Due to not wanting certain info concerning per diem pay to be public knowledge, this is all I will say.

Sorry to jump in. I've been reading this thread and trying to decide whether or not to apply to Poly.

It's not double dipping because you subtract your per diem pay from your per diem deduction on your taxes. However, Poly is taking out too much. The per diem deduction is 80% of $59 per night. You will have to pay taxes on 20% of what they are paying per diem.
