LRW , thank you . That's what I'll do , by the way I also have an app at management level for review with A&R transport , Columbus Oh. I know they're also a pretty good outfit. But will be in a training mode for them for a few weeks if called. They also pay you pretty well in training , never done pneumatic so I'll be an old dog learnin new tricks. @51 I can still do it. Poly however is a rare DryV job that pays great , not many of them left. Jevic was one , I loved it there 7.5 yrs then poof...Gone ! Private Carriers imo gives you as a driver a little security , and I like that idea. At my age I've got to settle in soon with someone , or I'll be working at Kroger or Lowes for 32k p yr.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Got the news I'd been waiting for.Polys flying me out for an interview on the 3rd of December.Sure hope it goes alright.Only thing I'm worried about is my blood pressure is a little high. Not too high that I couldn't get a one year. Can't wait to get away from Shaffer/Crete. So far this month I turned in 2 wks at 1300 miles and 1 at 1850.I get out of here i'll never pull a reefer again.
jdrentzjr Thanks this. -
I was a ex jevic Driver worked there 8yrs then went with Harry to New Century work there for 7 yrs and he did the same thing with that company when the economy tanked he pushed us driver making .52 out with giving us no mileage. Loved working there too but then he got greedy and retired. I started with Poly today at orientation I was with shaeffer so Good luck with the decision they usually call with in a few days after the phone interview and then if you get a face to face all you have to do is pass the drug screen and physical and your there.

I believe I'd make a tad more at Kroger , and oh as I recently talked to a Lowes sales rep (former FedEx driver) he was kinda happy he got out of the truck and into Lowes. He said 35/36k was about what he made 1st year , been there 7 he's making about 40K now... works 5 miles from home , and home with wife and kids everyday. But 40K is a far cry from 65k and higher. He did say the retirement plans pretty good , no detail...just words ya know. I just referenced those cause I've swt'd jobs since Jevic 4 times , in 4 and a half years. Soon it's gonna come back to bite me, it might now. -

Reloaded in El Paso Monday afternoon and made two deliveries in DFW area Tuesday afternoon/eveving then back to the GP yard in time for Chemster and myself go to a new IN/OUT BURGER in Arlington. Not impressed. I LOVE WHATABURGER!!! But it was good to fellowship with Chemster.
Got assigned a new truck this morning. So I spent the morning moving in then went to lunch with the new orientation class and got to meet TIMBO and ELSRIVER. Welcome gentelmen!
Spent the afternoon washing clothes then back to the yard to finish the movin process. I was able to find a place to store all my stuff but it is tight.
Will be hanging out at the terminal tomorrow while I wait for next outbound load. -
