They have a steady stream of drivers leaving .
( rumor has it many are jumping to Wal Mart )

The inspection only takes a few mins , but if they do find something like a tire or light out
they will shut you down until it's repaired as I understand it.

Does this mean your truck goes to the back of the line and you are stuck transferring into a loaner ? I do not know .

    I'm still figuring it out

Okay so it's become here , that we don't have a heck of a lot good to say so we say very little these days. Uh , I emptied 3/15/16 Tuesday morning at 0730 Sams Greenfield IN our BH dept set me a 1800 appt to pu a food distributor in Effingham IL for Wed ...1.5 days to load a BH 180 mile away. then the Delivery is set for Friday 2 days later 750 miles away.
As we know Poly has no showers , and they hesitate not one split second to make it real tough to come in close a trip and leave out in the same truck if you need a PM . They'll push your miles out so you can go get a shower , but you lose your spot on the PM list anyway. I elect to spend the weekend in the truck stop so to be able to practice the same thing these people do daily as for eating something other than vending machine food and showering .
I check in Monday morning and here I am still waiting on a PM Tuesday afternoon ... at 2pm , and oh btw , I just looked out the window and it's gone to be PM'd finally 30 hrs later. Now when it comes out , it has to wait until Wed. with no guarantees before the air leak can be repaired.
When I checked in yesterday , 8th on the list , at 7AM , and checked again with the night guy to see where I was at , I was 6th ... uh sounds to me like they either they did just 2 pm's 7am to 7pm or a few trucks were slid into my spot pushing me back.
I'm gonna have a period here after 3 yrs , that I empty for BH on Tuesday 3/15/16 turn a total of about 900 miles and lucky I'll be out of here Thursday Morning with my next load 3/24/16 So I say to poly , if you can take the time to use a calculator and figure out what I've made this past 9 days out here on the road away from home , i'm pretty sure you'll figure out it isn't enough to even buy 2 meals a day out here while out here.
You're policies are your biggest problem not a driver that misses a light out on his post trip inspection... Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if I'm looking , i's pretty obvious that you have managed to screw a real good attitude up because of the No it don't wok that way procedures that target one's willingness to like where they're at. IMO , these come in and go to the shop inspections are the 1st step in micro managing your drivers.

I hate to hear this about my future company.
If I was trapped without a shower and couldn't drive to a truckstop, I wouldn't shower for about 4 days before arriving and then I'd hang out around everyone.

And do they fire you if you get DOT'd and they find something wrong?

I would bank on the fact that a minor violation is a simple slap on the hand with did that hurt smile and away you go. But , you go in to a dot inspection with a 4 stop retail and get put otta service as you're leaking fuel all over the scale and 4 retails have to be rescheduled , you might create thin ice under you feet. If it's the 3rd time in 2 months you been screwed up and considered negligent, it my be your big out.

And oh by the way , after 2 rotator cuff surgeries , and cancer spots removed yes there has been a few times I've gone 4 days without a shower. But , if you carry yourself with any pride , then the very last thing you do is go sit in the drivers room and torture your fellow drivers with 4 days of B.O. on ya to get back at the bosses that aren't subject to having to be in that driver room. Not to mention how many of those guys will turn their back on ya .

Although , I'm frustrated big time right now , I'm also pretty confident that if I get through this 9 days of not wanting to be here , it'll be another 6 months before I'm frustrated again , and it'll be like only 4 day or 5 instead of 9.
I do know that although I'm keeping the eyes and ears open , there's a not a lot of options for me in N.E. Kentucky . I sure hope they come to their senses about these shop inspections.
You're basically telling us you rank us somewhere between less than avg and incompetent. That doesn't sit well with me. I'm pride driven and seek a company that embraces that and encourages it by having faith in their drivers.

Hey do we have a fuel stop on the east side of Ohio on 80? I know we use to , but not since the new books came out, heard they added one but I must have forgot to note it.

Just an update on how I'm doing at poly. As of April 2nd I've made a gross of $17,800.
Haven't been getting my big miles lately but Im consistently between 2700-3200 weekly.

Currently on a backhand out of the house , picked up in merritt island fl going to poly in gp. Was told no loads till Tuesday but that had someone fall off a 3 stopper to Minnesota ending Wednesday morning. I took that and put myself on Wednesday's board out of up north.

I haven't spent more than 5 minutes at the shop with there new post trip inspection crap so as of now It doesn't bother me.

I also have never been stuck at poly waiting for anything. Heck if I had to, just get a bobtail pass and go to shipping and take a loaner. Some say you can't do that , but I have lol.

Anyways I have seen things being well , different with the new people in outbound/back haul but I still make my money. I'm happy right now even with some annoying things going on. So far so good this year.
