It's not the short loads that
The drivers don't want.
It's the time wasted with the
Backhaul's that's the problem.
Example.
Morris il, is a easy 1000 mile
Load and you get unloaded fast.
Nobody wants it because of the
####ty 400 mile overnight
Backhaul to up north.
If you deliver on Friday your
Stuck all weekend with that
Short load.
If they deadhead us back
From these short loads I'd
Run them all day long.
Too much time wasted
On the short Backhaul's.
there not worth the money.
I don't know about the rest of
You, but I have no intentions
Of loading and unloading
Everyday.
I'm not doing a hourly job
And get paid by the mile. -

They never offer me the loads going that way.
Not that want them anyway.
That new plant just ruined the southeast for me.
Last time I was out there they only shipped
To 3 places.
Jacksonville,
Burlington, n.j
And Massachusetts.
Did the add any more to that list. -
The common problem is waiting a day to get a load out of Carolina poly and having two days to deliver it. It has definitely made things difficult for me as I like to stay South East North East I just don't like sitting for days. Definitely throws a wrench into things. -
1. Salem NH with a backhaul from Northern Vermont to El Paso with a 900 same through GP to turn in paperwork/fuel.
2. 3 stop Mom and Pop to Mass with backhaul from upstate NY near Canadian border to Houston.
3. 3 stop to Cheyenne WY with b/h in Parachute CO which I took west to Utah down through Moab, then CO, NM thru Gallup for fuel, then GP with A 900 same before delvering in Houston.
4. Old Lyme Connecticut with Frito Lay b/h in Lexington Va to Rosenburg TX.
It's been averaging out to about 2700 a week with the one smaller paycheck and then a big one.
This last trip to Morris I had a new trailer, so after my delivery Friday, they sent me to p/u paper rolls from Berkely Il to Grand Rapids Minnesota for Monday and then I deadheaded to Cottage Grove. I squeezed 820 miles out of that weekend run plus managed to get in a 34 hour break at the TA in Rogers.
Chicago is not my first choice either, but it's been the best one available. I've been to the Aldi DC near Cortland NY once in 6 years. It would be nice to go there more often.Last edited: Aug 18, 2018

Returning to Poly World on Monday. Have to go through orientation again which is fine and should hopefully be rolling out of the gates on Wednesday afternoon. Looking forward to being back. You guys save me some of those juicy loads as I have a lot of miles to make up
