Poly trucks come equipped with a CB. I almost never use it. I turned on a month ago while stuck in gridlock traffic trying to get some useful info. I was instantly reminded why I never use it. I got no info just a bunch of people shouting at each other.

Yup. My trainer had one. Listened to it for a few days. Asked to turn it off.

Haven't turned mine on in years.
I still know how to turn it on,
I have no idea what the other 5 knobs do anymore.
Nothing but garbage on that thing.

Last time I was there was two weeks ago.
Had to wait 7 days to leave.

Got on board for Wednesday, got a load for Sunday. Wasn’t ready on time and got canceled Monday morning because they finally decided they couldn’t produce the bags for the customer . Got a different load for Tuesday, but that wasn’t ready until Wednesday. Then missed the Friday delivery because of the original delay and had to sit Saturday and Sunday to deliver Monday.

Big time layover pay should be showing up on your pay stub. A year's worth in one week!

You must be joking? A years worth?? I just looked at my last pay stub and from January to mid March, I have already had 30 days of layover/holdover.

That doesn’t include what I have recently accumulated.

I’m just resigned to the overall situation given the state of the economy and wondering how long they will pay us to do nothing. I bet it won’t be for much longer.

I got paid 3700 detention last year. So it's better than nothing, which is what I used to get.

    2016 layover pay: 0
    2015: Zero

If you have 30 days layover, that should be 3000 in extra pay. No? If you tell them you want a load Monday and one is not ready until Tuesday so you would get 100 for that. If you take a load and get to the delivery a day early you get 100. This I heard said in a meeting by management. It has worked for me. But I admit 200/day would be more realistic.

Don't understand how you can sit 30 days in first 3 months.

So in 3 months you sat a whole month.
    Impossible.
I've got 5 days layover this year, and 3 of them
    We're in Reno.
I was in Grand Prairie last week.
Delivered on Monday, left out on Tuesday.

Every single time I get back to Grand Prairie its more of the endless holdups that happened 2 weeks ago.

YES, a full month of sitting.

Its not unheard of for companies to prioritize veteran drivers over newer ones, so your experience may vary.

Perhaps I just got unlucky selecting loads that got delayed or cancelled thus putting me back on the board for more waiting (no way of knowing which loads will get cancelled when given a choice).

I mean i'm glad I still have a job considering the havoc that has been happening all over the country with regards to the shutdowns.
