There is one run I heard about that goes between Baytown and Baton Rouge where the driver gets road mileage pay, drives 3000+ and gets home every day because he lives in Beaumont. But that kind of thing is rare.
When we ran paper logs there were a few top tier truckers that could really rip it up OTR and push 3000 a week, but the swindle sheet era ended once we got ELD's and they moved on.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Find a ram rod, outlaw reefer company if you
Need to work 14 hours a day 7 days a week.
We don't run like that at poly.
We don't have too.
And nobody in that office is gonna put up
With you complaining about miles or anything else.
It's there way or the highway.
Poly is not for you.
Find a linehaul job that runs 600 miles a day, everyday.
Whether you feel like doing it or not.
Go get that job.
We can run non stop if we want.
Or we can run easy if we want.
Or we can be lazy if we want.
That's the beauty of poly.
We're all in different financial situations.
Some need all the miles they can get.
Some guys are perfectly happy with 2000 miles per week.
Your not getting 3500 miles every week at poly.
So don't waste your time.
And believe me when I tell you,
Nobody in that office is going to do anything extra
To make you happy.Another Canadian driver and Bumper Thank this. -
You say you can run as hard as you want or as easy as you want, then get upset I want to run hard.
Ironic to be scolded for wanting to work, when most people complain that they can't find hard workers.
My goal of coming here was to get feedback of how things are over there, as that email I got peaked my interest. I am ok where I am at. I also run as hard as I want or as easy as I want. Get to choose when I deliver/pick up etc.
I also don't mind taking it easy, just like to be efficient that's all.
Poly has a terminal where I live, and I am starting to see how great of a perk that is.Last edited: May 7, 2022
