Lol. What company is he with now? I met him at the T/A in Pembroke, New York on January of 2015, he was pulling reefers for Marten Trucking out of Wisconsin.swaggerjacker Thanks this.

No idea ,Sir. I watched that one video, and wrote him off.

The whole story is, these people probably discriminated against me for being overweight. Sleep apnea stuff, but I passed my DOT physical. I did ask for a reason and they didn't give me a reason, just "we're going to pass on your application." They don't give a reason because they want to avoid lawsuits. So I was left to wonder why they didn't hire me.
Or maybe I pissed off the safety manager when I got up to use the restroom during his boring ### presentation. Dude wouldn't shut up.
Maybe I ate too many of their complimentary snacks. Or maybe it irritated them that I wouldn't relinquish 10 years of tax records just to be considered for their low-paying, entry-level job.
The fact of the matter is, they absolutely do send you home for "no reason." That's the essence of "at-will" employment. And if they don't give a reason, then it's their legal way of probably not hiring people for unethical or illegal reasons.
I'd probably have to look at it much closer to figure it all out.
The most maddening aspect of it all, was being promised a job contingent on passing all of their background checks and stuff. This was supposedly screened out at the preliminary level. I had to sit on the Greyhound for like 14 hours in the desert and layover in Los Angeles in the middle of the night, the whole time wondering why they didn't give me the job I was qualified for.
The fact of the matter is, when you don't get hired, a savvy hiring manager never gives you a reason.
What are they going to say? Think about what goes on in the real world. This is why we have employment laws, fair labor standards. Do you really think you'll get an honest response to , "why didn't you hire me?"
"We didn't hire you because you are fat and disgusting, and we think you're a liability and probably will file worker's compensation when your fat loser ### doesn't make three points of contact ."
"We didn't hire you because you were staring at our receptionists chest the whole time, and she said you kind of look like a guy who tried randomly adding her on Facebook and she decided already she doesn't want to work with you, and I'm banging her on the side so I do whatever she says even though I'm the boss and I have a wife at home."
"We just don't think a woman will fit in with the company culture."
"I'm a racist."
All these and more wonderful reasons to the question, "why didn't you hire me?" in later posts..Last edited: Jan 9, 2017

Excellent answer!
I can't disagree with you that "protected discrimination" exists.
But they DID have a reason (in fact you gave 3 of them)...they just hid behind the "We don't have to tell you" mask.
I've been discriminated against as well. There has been times where I KNOW (though they didn't dare say), that I was turned down for jobs (local and/or non-trucking related) because of my age.
There have been jobs that say in their ad's "Women and Minorities Encouraged to Apply", and me being a white male know's I'd be wasting my time if I applied.
I wish there were something we could do about it...but the system and the 'Right to Work' act tend to protect the employer (for whatever reason)---I mean look what happens when we quit our jobs with a LOT of these trucking companies...you don't see your last check no matter how professionally we sever our employment with the company...but if THEY (company) fires us, it's a whole different story...there's no notice and we STILL may not see our last check.
I agree sir, it is total BS; but what are we supposed to do about it, short of spending time and money that most of us don't have, with days. weeks, months, and some times years of legal action against the company to get back the $650.00 they stole from us; just to make a point? Maybe if enough people DO do that (he said do do) it would open some eyes, and these companies will stop stealing from us.
I feel ya...but just move on this time I think. I drove for Knight...it is a blessing (trust me) that they gave you a chance to go somewhere else.moloko and Toomanybikes Thank this. -
