This web site is great! I have been a cdl holder since 1995 or 1996, hell I cant remember, but I love this business.I did not go to 'school' or classes, instead I went to work for a company with 30 trucks and started out in the fuel lane. The drivers would come in and park at the pumps and I would do the post trip fuel the rig do minor repairs and then park the sucker at the bottom of the hill.I did this for 8 months.By the time I took my test for CDL I had more miles backing than going forward! Love the people at my first job, even that crazy trailer mechanic/Driver 'Joe'-the vietnam vet who took me for my road test.As fond as the memories of the past are, I look forward to making many new ones.I hate complainers and love solutions.Dont worry bout the economic downturn, the uber-rich will eventually get tired of hiding the money when another bull cycle starts.I ahve been homeless and broke before and it is overrated. Life is GOOD- if you are a trucker.
