I think you'll probably find that most trailer thieves already know what your cargo is when they go after your trailer. It's not like they decide to go steal a random trailer, they know what they're after.

Or at least they think they do. We had a trailer stolen from one of our drop lots. They intended to take one that was loaded with little kid princess costumes. They took one loaded with scrap paper. The thieves only matched the last 4 numbers.
And some thieves actually want an empty trailer. They get the pickup number from someone on the inside, show up with a mega trailer, get loaded and go. The actual driver shows up a hour later, gets told that load already shipped. It's another hour before the carrier knows its not a mixup and the load was stolen. It's onevreadon why more places ate requiring drivers to write down the truck license plate - most times no one verifies it so it does nothing.RedForeman, Siinman, 77fib77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Cops are worthless for anything except speed traps and showing up at the wrong address and killing whoever answers the door.
if it’s not money in their pocket or the thrill of killing some one ,they ain’t gonna lift a finger.
If I had something stolen and fitted with a tracker , I’d just go get it back . No use to waste time Collins the cops with the mistaken impression that they give a #### about anything except traffic tickets .Soltaker, Siinman and TheLoadOut Thank this. -
True. Also who carries around a CO2 fire extinguisher? Most of them are the common ABC type that will do nothing but make a cloud of yellow powder. Even if you have a CO2 fire extinguisher, there isn't nearly enough CO2 even in a big one to make any noticeable difference in a lock.Opus Thanks this.

But you could back off the cam shafts on the brakes in 3 minutes?rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
I assumed we was talking about a trailer sitting not one that has product in it. Not many trailers set at least from a O/O point for more than a day with product in it and not hooked to a truck. Only time my trailer is off the hook is if I get service done on the truck.

King pin locks are like riding lawn tractors they just about all use the same key.
I have 7 king pin locks. All bought at different times over a ten year period and one of unknown age and brand I found in a box of scrap parts when cleaning out an old retired mechanic friends shop. No key. Checked the key I had for the others. The same. Lol.Siinman Thanks this.
