I am ammused by those that that are against paper logs just because our elustrious government claims e-logs are better. You guys can come up with some of the best excuses in the world to claim we love having big brother shoved up our backside. I will never run e-logs myself, it just doesn't fit in my program which has proved safe for over 40 years. It has nothing to do with working more hours, I am already legally allowed 20 hours, you would have to be stark raving mad to want more. What it would do is force me to keep rolling when I am not 100% attentive to make a living, while on paper logs I can take a break if needed. If I get to where I intend to park and can't I can still run a few minutes down the road to find a SAFE place to park. AS far as those claiming the dispatcher pushes them to run illegal on paper logs, grow up, that dispatcher is not in your truck with a baseball bat forcing you to do anything. Bottom line is it is on you, I don't need some some dude that has never driven a truck telling me exactly how and when I can do something.

Nothing has changed on the EOBR rules. 1999 engine and older is exempt.
Gliders days on the other hand are numbered. They have in fact been regulated out of existence. Paccar is exiting the glider business altogether after this production year. With the limits imposed by regulators all the 2019 gliders they are producing right now have to be registered before 2020 and if they aren't they cant be sold. No more will be sold after 2020. My source on this was Thompson CAT when I checked on glider prices. Better hurry because what few Pete gliders they have on hand now is all they've got and once they're gone they're gone for good. They're selling quickly for $186,000-$188,000 if you're interested.rabbiporkchop, Hammer166, Cat sdp and 3 others Thank this. -
I have seen nothing in any regulation or even industry news article about this. Are you sure that want just a salesman trick to get you to buy now?
The only glider regs in recent memory are the one limiting dealers to 300 units per year. Thompson cat builds turn key glider kits, just like fitzgerald. They are limited to 300 per year. But nothing stops a guy like you or me from buying a rolling glider from the truck manufacturer and then building our own glider truck.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
The fact I know about gliders is most of them are being built with engines that were made after the cut off year of 2000.
So if you want a glider for paper logs , you had better double check the engine vin.
Or take the tag over the original vin off, and forget where you put it.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I bought a kenworth W900 rolling glider an made my own an come out to becheaper than buying one
Cat sdp, Rideandrepair and Intothesunset Thank this. -
Fitzgerald builds them for Thompson. You are right that an individual will still be able to purchase and build their own glider kit with no engine in it as long as any of these companies are still making them. Getting back to the original intent of gliders. But there's really no future in it, it's not just business as usual, with the limits imposed.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

You can’t to order a rolling glider you have to have a buyer manufacture number and you don’t sell big rigs so they can’t make one for you sorry but it’s drivers like this that put out the wrong information daily they just say whatever comes to there mind lol

Ban glider sales.
Than every new truck out of warranty would get an old engine stuffed in.
Not sure what you call that ? But I would consider buying a newer truck with bad engine just to put my old engine in it. -
We are ready do that DD15s to 12.7Intothesunset Thanks this.
