Only way to find out what parts are in the engine is through Fitzgerald. It can be very frustrating. Even the Detroit Authorized Dealers have to call Fitzgerald. They put their own new serial numbers on engines. Many have oddball parts. Including Industrial generator engine blocks and mismatched parts. Price a replacement engine into the deal. No telling what you’ll get. It’s a crap shot. Try running the vin through a Dealer. See if they have any Warranty history. Probably only 1 year on Truck. Chances are it won’t show much. Maybe call Fitzgerald and ask them for any info on the Truck. Getting correct engine parts is a problem. Buyer beware.

I don’t know. I doubt it. The rebuilt tag is a relatively new thing from what I’ve read. Used as a loophole. Didn’t know they were history. I would want to see the paperwork with a description of what overhaul kit was used. I don’t know what good a rigdig is. Buying a used vehicle, you need to have it inspected. Lot of rebuilt vehicles out there with perfectly clean titles. Check it out good. No different than any vehicle. Knowing the driveline history helps. I like the idea of buying one already overhauled. Should give you a good start. Still there’s always that risk. No way around it. I’ve contacted previous owners in the past. They’re usually helpful if you can find them.

Their parts dept is actually really helpful getting parts numbers on items they installed. 888-873-0448 I have used them in the last 6 months and they are still in business, they just don’t build gliders anymore.

Mine reads out of state in the Title Type Category. When I bought it new from Fitzgerald in 2016 it was already titled in their name. The only thing listed on the original title that was different was Specially Constructed Vehicle.

When you call Fitzgerald Parts you will want to have the engine serial number on the metal tag bolted to the drivers side of the motor. I needed a fan shroud back in the summer and since this was a part supplied by Fitzgerald, Peterbilt had no clue. After several failed attempts with Peterbilt I found this number. They knew every part that they had installed by using that engine number. I have an excellent shop who generally knows how to source parts but, Fitzgerald Parts will be my go to in the future. They shipped the correct part overnight for half the price I got from Peterbilt, who was wrong twice.

Here's a picture of title dealer says it says rebuilt because it's a glider I'm skeptical

That could just be how Maine handles glider titles. That’s how a lot of states used to do it because most gliders used to be rebuilt with parts from old trucks. Then people started building rolling gliders to get around emission rules. I wouldn’t be concerned with it saying it’s a rebuilt vehicle based on the dates and the recorded mileage and the previous state being TN.

Prior to emission regulations gliders used to bring far less money on the secondary market. I remember back when dad was alive that gliders were sort of look down on for the fact that they were a new cab with a bunch of used parts.

I'll be there to pick it up soo maybe if it all looks good at airport now. Get this the model says 389 the truck is really a 386 vins match so maine must of made typo when they did the title and no one ever caught it dealer assured me he would get model fixed on title during transfer. This whole title situation has me nervous
