Tingling or CRAMPS? I’ve always work3d with my hands, so I am not a good judge. Tingling only comes from days on a motorcycle, hundreds of miles a day in the saddle. Vibration in the grips. Cramps came from working all day without eating and only water to drink. Check your diet first.

Having your thumbs over the steering wheel instead of wrapped under the steering wheel will keep you from death gripping it.

Any time you do something new your body will need to adapt. Maybe try a stress ball or something too when you’re not working just to work the muscles in your forearms.

Yes you are now a certified, bonified truck driving man ! Your body will age quickly. Take note of drivers you see that are 45 yrs old but look like they're 60 ! Coffee in left hand, cigarette in right hand or hanging from lips. Time to get on down the highway with that load ! :argue:

Death grip, butt pucker, and occasional lower back pain from an adrenaline rush brought on by an oh crap moment is just part of the job. Watch the way an old timer real trucker walks and carry's himself. You can feel his pain with his movements. Lol.

I learned years ago to never 'death-grip' a wheel; that causes more accidents than anything else. It makes it too easy to over-correct with the wheel. I grew up in the 'snow belt', and learned how to keep my steering 'loose'. Be ready to slide a bit, and don't panic. Kept me out of ditches for nearly 50 years, too......

Is it electrolytes? Put some salt in water. Not Gatorade it's loaded with sugar.

Put some salt and pepper and butter on a baked potato.
But, salt water as a drink? More than gross.

    OldeSkool and 77fib77 Thank this.

I remember that when I first started. You get over being tense with time, although I still have plenty of times i tense up for a bit while driving. Especially on icy roads.
