I have never talked to a recruiter in any company that didn't put me on hold at least twice. That's small companies and big ones, like Swift and Werner. They are in a hurry, yes, but they are also busy people. Having been a phone operator for a large cable TV company once, I can tell you, it gets hard to sound cheerful answering the same questions over and over. Having had that experience, I can be a little more patient with them.
Walker: Have you already been out on the road with Werner? How long did you stay out? If you didn't make it past the first 6 months, you'll need to go to a private cdl school or to Swift's Academy. Please confirm this with a Recruiter. According to my recruiter, the wait for the Academy is a couple months right now and the reason I'm attending a private school. -
I spoke with numerous recruiters over the last couple months. There are 2 that stand out as professional and in no way hurried me off the phone...Maverick and Conway...funny that both of these companies have very few negatives plastered all over the forum about them. Maybe its just a coincidence ?

Is Conway hiring students? I talked with Bob Gruver at Conway. He seems like a straight shooter, not in a hurry to get me off the phone. They wanted 3 months minimum experience. I went with Swift.
Maverick is hiring students for now. Better have a good work history with them.
One thing you have to bear in mind is Swift has 16,000 drivers. Biggest trucking company in the world. The happy ones don't come here.
