You know, the term "predatory lending" comes to mind.

To me, lenders, or in this case Schneider, are culpable in this kid's potential demise.

Yeah, I know, nobody stuck a gun to his head. But c'mon. There's no way any loan underwriter worth his weight in salt would make a $3,700 a month loan knowing this young man's financial situation at the time.

    I don't necessarily disagree.
However, I would point out that we are Americans. And as such welcome to fail or succeed as we will.

Look, Scooter. I did it and a whole lot of other people did it. It would be a different story if everyone failed. As it is, I see the failure on the driver. I made sacrifices. I ran. I planned. I got up early. I kissed butt. I took care of my stuff. I took the good with the bad. And I took care of my family.

Once again and always, get up, go to work, try your best, be honest, and you will likely succeed.

    Depends on experience I think.
Straight up out of driving school? No.
But been driving for a while? Yes

Like Opus, I don't overall necessarily disagree, and my thoughts on company lease purchase have been made very clear over the years, but I will give SFI a pass here.

The OP presented himself to us as a 6 year driver who had "done the research and had a plan". Opus, Wiper, Sadwar and DFO were very similar to the OP in terms of starting points and intial "Whelp, that was dumb" moments starting out. On the surface I would have thought the OP could get thru at least 6 months. I doubt he would make 3 years, but he could have been a contender. I guarantee that if SFI knew he was on the verge of bankruptcy they would not have financed him.

The OP made certain decisions in his first few weeks that ran contrary to his intial post and which put him in a financial squeeze. That is on the OP, not SFI.

In summary 3 card monte games are rigged. If you chose to play, expect to get rolled.

Used trucks they will sell outright - if you can come up with the cash/financing you're good to go.

They do not sell new trucks outright - SFI can not compete with a dealership on a non-financed deal.

Man, slow down and stop being so dramatic. You know where the money is. Work it. Honestly they make a good program to easy. You know where the money is now make it.
Save the drama of hitting sleeper walls for when you get home and find someone humping your wife.

Kill yourself? Get the f out of here. Much worse things in life than a cancelled load or a funny smelling bed sheet. Toughen up and get it done.
Find the areas and shippers you like and run it. It will all fall into place unless you convince yourself your a victim. If you don't have the stomach for it, IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BAIL EARLY THAN LATE.
Good luck. I mean this sincerely. Trucking is almost always about where you live if you like to go home. Fortunately it almost always provides you with opportunities no matter where you go.

Stop looking at your business cash flow in terms of daily and weekly. Look at it monthly and quarterly. No one makes money every day, it’s all perspective.

I have friends, mentors, and people I looked up too kill themselves. It’s not worth it or the solution.

You might not be cut out for this. Starting out behind the eight ball like you did will make things tough and there's gonna be a lot of days like this. A person with a good head on their shoulders can do it but I'm not sure that's you. I wish you luck

Spend that free time learning how to improve your rates, not how to improve your video game skills.
