Really bad situation. When I first started my lease operation back at JCT, I had over 10 grand in the bank. This is exactly why I recommend that as a minimum before one begins running their own trucking business.
The first truck I got from JCT was a lemon from hell and my down time and repair costs were legendary (think way over ten grand in repairs first year). If I hadn't had some surplus in the bank it would have ended me.
Cautionary tale. BTW, I got a letter in the mail about my hazmat expiring and I had to go pay a fee and get a new picture at the DMV. No way around this. This is starting to sound crazy but mistakes happen sir. I've made some doozies in my day.

With Southwest airlines the flight you have from Salt Lake to Chicago tell them to push the date back you have up to a year to use that flight then later on down the line when you fly home to Salt Lake you already have a flight for you back to Chicago
-
The difference between the flight I had cancelled and the one I now need to book is $430. But I found a flight through frontier for $104 so I'm all set
-
You booked a one way from slc right??
-
Yessir, leaves Saturday night arrives 12:05 Sunday morning

So, from the sounds of it you're in the hole after a couple of mos of doing this?
-
I started in the hole and I can't dig myself out.Scooter Jones Thanks this.

Yeah, that's a rough position to be in. I hope you can turn it around. If not, don't worry about it, hit the reset button and move on. You wouldn't be the first one (in every walk of life & vocation) forced to do it. Before this is all over you're going to learn (hopefully) a lot about what it takes to run a business and a lot about yourself.Last edited: Feb 10, 2020
Atlanta trucker and kemosabi49 Thank this. -
With choice you’ll always be in the hole .......
Might want to try the northeast and do 2 loads a day (when possible) . That’s probably your best shot at making any money. -
have you moved to slc?
