Well the PP I got will take me through the weekend unfortunately it's only 618 miles. picks up Friday anytime in Lafayette, IN and delivers in Stuarts Draft, VA on Monday at 0930.
Picked it up, it's heavy 43,000lbs. I stopped to weigh it at a Love's about 30 miles south. I stayed the night there.
Got up this AM and drove 524 miles and stopped at the Petro in Raphine, VA about 16 miles from my delivery where I will spend Saturday night and all day Sunday.
Going back trucking with PTL

Very good thread. I hope to start a thread when I go back on the road around the 10th of May after a year and a half at a non driving job. Be safe and like another driver suggested stock spare bulbs, lights, fuses etc. You save the company money and your hours. Keep the black side down!!!!!!

Delivered my load on Monday with no issues other than the sitting around.
Got my next PP picking up at Williamsburg Bud plant and Deliver in Attalla, AL. First problem is I can't make the delivery it's 4/28 at 1100. So they move it out to 4/29 at 1100. I don't think I can make that and give them an ETA of 1300.
I pickup with no issues and drive to my fuel stop. The Love's in Max Meadows, VA. I decide to park for the night and get fuel in the AM. What a mistake that was. I get up this morning and all these trucks in front of me are park in no parking zones. I try and get out and end up with an "incident". The right rear of my trailer hits the left front of the truck next to me. I know it's my fault. I am now on 12 month probation.
I get to my delivery at 1330 and they say sorry come back tomorrow. Will it ever end????? I am sitting at a Petro:2 just down the road. -
Ouch! That sucks about the incident. Sorry to hear that. I used to wake drivers up if they were parked ####eyed in a space near me or blocking me in. It didn't make me high on their Christmas list when I would have them move but I was a jerk & just made them move anyway regardless of their threats or protests. It was better than a possible accident or fender bender.
Keep your chin up. It's a bad day but the next one will be better. Just stay positive. -
I am scheduled for orientation on 5/5,and will be a trainee. In order to keep the bills paid while on the road I plan on bringing a laptop. My cell phone (12V) is a hot spot, but where do you use the (110V) laptop?

Went back to the beer place around 0700 they had me unloaded by 0800. Got my next PP picking up in Birmingham and delivering in Laredo, TX. But since I have hometime scheduled for Friday I will be swapping with another driver in Slidell, LA and take his load to Nashville, TN that delivers 0700 on Friday and then home.
Sitting at a parking area on I59 about 70 miles from my swap point. -

On hometime now. My wife is in the hospital with pneumonia which turned into a blood infection. She should be fine but can't get out till Monday. she has already been here for 5 days.
My adventure to get here was I had to wait at the TA in Slidell,TA for 8 hours till the guy I was swapping with to show up. It wasn't his fault, the team that was taking his load off him took 6 hours to get unloaded. so he finally got the MT to me and I went up and picked up the load and delivered to Nashville, TN both ends were D/H. When I finally got home yesterday I had to drive out to my daughters in Grovetown, GA where my wife is in the hospital.
