Does anyone know if Schneider allows you to move from regional to local? I was looking into going local at first but everywhere I would apply always wanted someone with OTR experience (1year) so I decided to start off at regional and maybe drive that for about 3 months. I big reason why I want to work for Schneider is cause I know they have a lot of local jobs as well. My goal is to drive regional for about 3 months, then ask them if I can move to local. Anyone from Schneider know if this is possible? I know Schneider local jobs want 1 year OTR as well but if im already working regional but only have about 3 months exp, would that matter?

I used to be leased to SNI, it just depends on how bad the need is for local drivers. If you are near french camp I believe they run local railyard out of the french camp OC.....

Ok THIS is what I was told by Greenbay:

I saw Schneider pulling for Ford. Daycab pulling a pup and dropping parts at the Ford house. Exactly what I would want in semi-retirement since dealers are closed nights and weekends so I called.......

Gal told me I can't have that......I would have to give them at least 6 mos in the system for the right to even join a long waiting list. They considered their local work cream of the crop juicy stuff to be reserved for the upper segment of their fleet. ( Really? Upper segment? At SNBC ? )

Now read my bio, I'm not doing 6 mos in anybody's system for any reason. I don't have to which is why I do a L/P deal.

Ask your recruiter. Something might have changed or the area market might be dry. You could walk right in, I've seen that happen before, right place , right time.

    Just do it....

First 6 mos. you gotta stay put where you hired in.Then, and only then..Your DBL has to okay your request to move.
If your needed they can/will keep you,or put you on the s-list since you no longer wanna play there.
    Thats my best memory :biggrin_25517:
