That load had cancelled the day before per shipper. Now I am getting loaded tonight in Jacksonvill, fl; two stops to AL and MS. Orlando was a mess. So many accidents. Ran into a driver from my terminal for once. He had the truck I started with that I ended up leaving in memphis. I am glad they are loading me tonight so I can get out of town and not deal with traffic. Wasn't supposed to load until tomorrow at 0900.

Another Q:
When I started out working @ Knight, they had many authorized fuel stops, including T/A's, Petros, and some independents scattered around the west. They had a brief period of using mainly Loves, and then mostly Pilots when I left after 5 yrs.
Do they still only want 50 gal fill ups in CA? Since the Pilots are usually jammed out there, frequent fuelings got to be a time consuming hassle!! -
As a I/C I fillup where ever I please so been out of that loop for a while -
Do they make you govern your truck? Used to be o/o's were gov'd about 2-3 mph above company trucks. Made the company drivers 'less competitive' in delivering timely loads... -
Hey Overdrive, Im sitting in the Flying J in Lodi right now. Have been running the west coast for a month now and am out of the Carlisle terminal.
I see we mainly fuel in the Pilots and Flying J's but I've also fueled in TA's, Petros, and Loves. I think it depends on the price point and taxes. As far as 50 gal in Cali, I haven't run into it. Usually my fuel solutions say fill. -
The trucks are governed. The policy changed a little while ago. All company trucks are supposed to be set at 63, however, if your idle time is below a certain level, the company turns the speed up on them as an incentive. I'm running at 65 right now.

Flying J's didnt take Knight's card when I worked there! Thx for the feedback... -

So Knight company drivers might have some disdain for you & your ilk, huh?
The only way I would make a career in trucking if started over as a younger person is to buy a tractor (new or 2 YO) and buy used or rent a trailer after 3 yrs experience working for a nat. carrier---i.e. go work for myself!
Also, you mentioned that you were from Canada?
One thing I noticed in my driving over the years that many registered Canadian truckers violated cartage rules and brought a load down from Canada, were supposed to look for a load back, but stayed in the US and competed with US truckers! -
