Knight just sent out a message that idleair is free to all knight drivers for September. Pretty cool. I wish it were in more locations though.

    IdleAir Thanks this.

Idle aire pretty much doesn't exist anymore simply because most carriers are going to APUs now...more cost efficient... Too bad knight management can't figure that out.

Dna Mach and mitrucker Thank this.

With so many options I would have thought a company this size would have them by now. I think they will in the near future with as many trucks as they have.

We cycle thur trucks to quick to pay the cost difference. Also you got to many idiots that have no idea how to check oil or fix any minor problems. Same thing with inverters to many people that would take a 1500 watt inverter and try to run 2500 watts worth of crap. Its the few that ruin it for everyone else.

I can understand not running the APUs (another motor) but the battery operated ones are viable and work well with no extra engine. And you can spec them without an inverter.

Got me on a run to the Bronx next. I am looking to be in next weekend so I may end up handing it off to someone.

When I got this trailer a couple days ago I noticed it not running right. A -5 set point and it was getting up close to 16 degrees before coming down. I found in the settings it was on a 12 degree variance! I changed it back to 6. It still was acting strange though trying to pull temp down really far before cutting off. Again in the settings it had a 12 degree override; meaning it would go 12 degrees below set point! I changed that to 5. Now it is running normal. This is the secon carrier unit I have found like that in about 6 weeks. It is now set the way the trailers normally run. I am not sure how those were changed to such an extreme setting or how someone hasn't noticed before now.

Got held up until 1300 today dealing with an overage issue. Put me 7 hours behind where I was planning to be. This load was going to be nice and easy but now it is pretty tight. Stops in Syracuse, Swedesboro, and a final at Hunts Point in the Bronx.
