Good afternoon everyone,
Let me start by wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas holiday. I enjoy everyday browsing the forums as I retired over 4 years ago and surrendered my CDL. Now my wife and I are considering trying to go back into trucking for at least 4-5 more years. I would have to re-do my CDL-A with all endorsements and that is not an issue for me.
I am asking everyone if they think this would be a good idea? I would freeze my Social Security benefits for now but keep my Medicare. My wife is enjoying Healthcare.gov subsidies for her BC/BS and we know that the assistance with the monthly payments would stop and that is no problem.
I live in Ocala, Fl. and would prefer a southern regional route that allowed passengers so my wife can ride with me. I would not want to run out of the south [Fl., Ga., Al., Ms., SC.,NC., Tn., Va.] and be home weekly. I also would like to either drive dry van reefer or bulk tanker.
Am I crazy or should I just enjoy my retirement and remember my 44 year/3 million miles career and stay home? I thank any and everyone for their opinion. My son currently drives for CT out of Jacksonville, Fl. and their regional is great but I do not want to think of tarps.
Happy Holidays to you all and I look forward to your replies. Navypoppop

all I can say is that comcar was definitely my first choice, but was the only company that cared about my misdemeanor, oh well.
