Hey truckers I’m currently 2000 miles away from home and I’m going through a breakup after 5 years. I’m currently on my 34 hour reset in my truck and I have nothing to distract myself from thinking about her and it hurts so bad. Luckily I have my dog with me to help with my emotions but I’d like to hear if any of you guys that went through a similar experience and how did you cope while on the road.

You really want people's opinions on what to do?
    If so; Were you married?

Be glad its only been 5 years. Imagine 20-30 years, kids, a life a home, and she drops that bombshell, which they so often do, because they're bored, or want to find themselves. I say good riddance and move on with your life.

Is the reason for the breakup that you are gone from home too much? If so, your only choice is to quit OTR and go local. If other reasons, sorry but those are the breaks.

Heartbreak sucks, my friend. Whilst you're in the midst of it, it seems like it will hurt forever. You will heal in time, it's important to know that. A small piece will always be missing. Scar tissue is stronger than before the wound. Condolences.

It's natural man. Operation of emotion. Best thing I can tell you is don't go begging with phone calls or text messages or doing all kinds of things you may not have ever done before. If there were things about you that made her leave you and you know what she at least claimed those things to be, look at yourself and determine if those things are true. If they are, then work on them for yourself and only for yourself. If they are not true, the things she may or may not have said about you, then why would you miss someone who lies to you anyway?

Never give a woman your heart, always keep them in a state of uncertainty when it comes to your true feelings otherwise they will get bored, most of them anyway. Treat yourself well, get up and dust yourself off. Women tend to leave when you go thru something and then want to come back when the clouds clear, don't ever take her back. The sun will rise tomorrow my friend, been there myself a few times. Tough lesson to learn.

What you have to do is make her jealous and regret dumping you. @ElmerFudpucker dated a girl for several years, but it turned out she was a drifter.

After she left him, he started running hard for Crete, amassing enough Loves Points to buy the suit of armor. When she stopped by his place and saw it, she instantly felt remorse. By that time he was dating a girl he met at the fuel desk.

Time will tell if the new girl is a gold digger. A few months ago he fell from diamond status to platinum but she didn't leave him so that's a good sign.

So you believe in a perpetual state of use and abuse.
