Going through New Mexico and permits? What do I need?

Headed to Phoenix AZ on 40, have to cross NM. Load is kiln dried timber’s. I’ve never been through NM before but I seem to recall someone talking about a permit to operate in NM akin to the NY HUT sticker. Am I recalling this correctly? I am permitted for NM on my cab card

 

If you don’t have a bond with them you will prepay your roadtax at the port of entry

 

Ok, how’s that work? Is there a site or something to calculate it? I’ll just be running straight across on 40

For me it wouldn't be so much for the money.. It's the annoyance of it. After all there is a perfectly good system in place for this already called IFTA.
