Having driven nothing but Volvos for the last seven years of my driving career, which includes two 780 Volvos, can I respectfully give you some advice? If you want a Volvo for your business, find one with fewer miles which hopefully still
has some factory warranty on it. Volvos aren't cheap to service when it needs to go to Volvo. As an example, my dealer
quoted me $1500 to clean, and $2700 to replace that DPF filter. My last overhead cost $700, which is basically a inspect
and adjust with shims as needed on the top end. As I recall my 780 in that time frame had recurring issues with injector
cups wearing out, brake sensor problems, and issues keeping the cruise control engaged with no system problems.
Unless you're buying or getting an extended warranty on the truck all those costs and more are going to be on you. 780
Volvos are really nice trucks if they've been well maintained, can put you out of business in a hurry if they haven't. The 780
is also one of the heavier Volvos, especially if you put an APU on it. Even with the side fairings, fuel economy wasn't
exciting, and pulling a refer trailor isn't going to help. Not trying to change your mind or scare you, just some heads up
from someone who's been there, done that with that era Volvo. Hope that helps.....good luck! -

Yes indeed they are beautiful trucks, and very comfortable to ride and sleep in.
Mine was loaded. refrigerator, APU, dual bunks with work station on bottom,
etc. They're pretty pricey brand new now. Down sized to a 630 now. Wife
can't stand being in the truck, so I bought the economy package with excellant
fuel milage. People don't believe these little things get 8+ mpg. My wife does,
she gets the money saved on fuel each week. As most of us know, fuel economy
is what it's about for alot, if not most of us now days. -
I like being able run laps in my truck lol. -
Very true. Not a truck anyone would consider if looking for a luxurious, roomy
truck to travel in. Bought mine for one reason......fuel economy! After 3 weeks
on the road, I'm a caged animal that's got to be unleashed. The walls definitely
start closing in on me. -
Yuck a volvo!!!!!
Then y would u buy a trk with a million miles already. The only way i would get a trk with a million miles on it if they were giving them away. U must be a real short person to want to buy a volvo in 6" 1' and i hated driving the one i had because my knees were up against dash couldn't strech out my legs. That was my nightmare for 4months til i got a freightliner. I couldn't stand their shift pattern. It was much tighter than other trks i have drove. Man if u want volvo that bad buy one with less than million miles the trk is wore out already. Had a friend do same thing bought volvo with 850000mi he had trk less than 2 months he had to shell out almost $600 he didn't listen -
