My buddy has a few Volvo’s. He bought the laptop with the volvo software on it. He said it paid for itself the first time he put some old bottled DEF in one of them instead of taking it into the shop. I think it was around $2500 with a yearly license fee

I pay $500 a year for the Detroit software. Plus close to $1,000 to buy the adapter and hook ups in the first place.

Have the truck limited to 65 or 105km. Then have the "driver rewards" turned on. My truck is limited...but... as long as I get 3 mpg I get 75 on the pedal. sometimes after I idle for too long it takes an hour or so running at 65 and I get the rest of the pedal back. When they plug in they just see that the limiter is set at 65.

The last time I was up there and got pulled into the scale, that was the first thing they did. He plugged into my you truck before he even asked to see my log book. Been a few years now so not sure how they are now.

Same here except I have Cummins. Software is called Powerspec and is a free download from Cummins. No annual fee. The hardware that plugs into the data port was $500 from Snap On.

Or buy a truck manufactured prior to Dec 31 1995 you would be exempt.

Then you eat it coming back, not worth the hassle.
