Hey everyone, long story short I'll be getting my CDL in December.

Right now I stay in Portsmouth, VA but if the opportunity is good enough, I'm willing to move anywhere in the US..

    My questions are

    1. What are some good companies around the Hampton Roads/NC area?

I've been looking into Avirett express, and they seem to have a good program for new drivers and it seems like a good company to work for from what I've been reading.

    2. Best opportunity in the US?

I was almost sure I had a job being a frac fuel tech at what's now pilot-thomas back before oil collapsed..
But I'm willing to go anywhere in the country if the pay is good enough...

Abilene Motor Express in Richmond, VA has an excellent reputation & runs lots of West Coast.

Most hazmat/tanker companies pay well and many hire new CDL grads.
No personal income taxes in Florida, Nevada, Tennessee, Texas.

Houston, Texas is tanker heaven in the USA:

    SVTN
    Schnedier Bulk
    Superior Carriers
    Tidewater Transit
    Groendyke Transport
    Trimac Transportation
    CTL Transportation
    Coastal Transport

All these hire new CDL grads. Some hire in VA and all hire in Texas.
