I will be going to Knight on the 25. Anyone got any info on their Tn location or any advice about training and orientation?

Do yourself a favor, and search the word Knight. Read away...and see if you don't want to change your mind. It's not too late.

I decided in Knight because they start you on your road training in one week. I already have my cdl permit . Also I would be paid for orientation.

Im curious, I have knight on my top 5 list of places to start with as i will be starting school on Dec. 2. why is knight not a good choice?
-
I Currently drive for Knight out of Carlisle, PA. There will be drivers out there that will bad mouth Knight just because a friend of a friend of a friend told them it is a bad company. These people have never driven for Knight themselves though or they only drove for a few months and never stayed around for awhile to get their feet wet. If you want to go with the Daily pay...This is the easiest way to make sure the loads you run you get paid for. Works for this driver, never had the payroll department mess up my check yet after 1 1/2+ years with the company. Get to know your Dispatcher, sure sometimes you will get the crappy loads but if you do the crappy loads and dont complain your dispatcher will realize your a driver they can count on and you will start seeing the better loads. All trucks will eventually need to get repaired. Take in stride and when it happens find out how long your truck will be down and ask your dispatcher for a loaner truck. Dont sit around and earn breakdown pay. You can make more on the road then sitting in the terminal or hotel. Overall it is a good company, just make it work for you.

I got a call from cr England yesterday. The recruiter told me my admin. Fees would be covered and I also found out the physical requirements aren't as rigorous as knight. Which would be better they both seem to have a bad rep.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
If you choose C R England after ALL the info available to you on this site, shame on you. Knight isn't great but they are adequate for a newby.
missjhawk Thanks this.
