I don't know if it's still standing but I always enjoyed seeing the old ski jump outside Berlin, NH. We used to pass it all the time headed into Berlin and on the way to North Conway I think it was. It's been a good...15 years or so since I was last there.
Ski Jump outside Berlin, NH (Believe it was abandoned when I was last there)

My Nana used to go to Berlin for hot dogs. lol. Foot longs. Said they were the best she ever had, and always came back home with boxes of them. They were pretty good, I cant' lie.
Many a time we sat around the table just bs'ing and snacking on hot dogs.
Sorry for any hijacking of the thread!

Maine is a weird state. My Dad's family goes WAAAAAAY back there. The coastal areas are mostly congested, small towns. Close to I95, you do get some manufacturing, but not a lot. Lumber and paper mills are mostly in the interior towns, and it get rural back there reeeeeal quick. That's where you meet true "Yankees", which used to be the regional equivalent of "Hillbillies", just with a different accent.
Heading to northern Maine (where my people came from..), it's mostly logging, the roads are all small (if even paved...), and French becomes the dominant language. You can find parking, but it will mostly be like in a big lot at the bodega, or at the highway department garage lot, maybe even on a snowplow turnaround. It's rural.
