going to school out of state?

    If i go to a truck school out of my home state where will i get my cdl?

    As long as its an accredited school you 'll get it. Technically, you don't even have to go to school to get it, but most companies require school. You don't just drive in one state.

    Usually, trucking schools generally train you how to obtain your CDL and are accredited to complete the driving portion with you or are willing to provide you with the vehicle in order to complete the test in your home state. At Schneider National, they train you, have accreditation to complete your driving test, and send you home for the written portion with an affivadit certifying that you completed the driving portion with them. There are so many new schools available now, I'm not sure how most of them do it, but it must be similar.

    i am from pa. went to c-1 in indiana and got cdl from that state, but it was only valid for 3 months. got permenant pa cdl after- didnt have to retake test, just pay pa fee.
