So I have a 2 year medical card that I got from a company that is listed on the national registry. I attended swift academy and when they looked at it, I didn't have to take a physical.
Now that I am going to swift orientation, will they make me take another physical? I'm just wondering because I had to work really hard to get my blood pressure dropped without meds and I took my DOT physical late July of this year, but I'm sure it's risen since I have been eating a lot of sodium at the academy.
When I go to orientation, will they make me take another physical (check blood pressure) even if I have a recent 2 year medical card from an approved DOT company on the national registry?
Going to swift orientation. Will they make me take another physical?

I have no experience with Swift. However I have always advised a driver going into orientation to be prepared for a new physical. If you have blood pressure, blood sugar or heart rate issues to deal with them before. Sometimes fixing one can cause another one. Some blood pressure meds can raise your heart rate etc etc. Chances are if Swift is a carrier that accepts physicals and other Swift drivers will know for sure you will be OK. What concerns me is I am sensing some trepidation on your part about a physical. If your blood pressure is high it is slowly harming and could kill you. Get this treated. I know the sleep Apnea thing is crazy, best way to fight that is to lose weight if you are overweight. When you as a trucker can go to a physical and not worry about these things it should mean you are in general good health, if not I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU to heed the danger signs.

Congrats on Swift and safe travels!

Unless it has changed recently you will be taking a new physical at orientation.
That is done on the first day, and everyone goes through it. -
you most likely will have to get one thru swift authorized clinic. Best to get bp under control if its that hard to get under. Took me almost 2 years to get mine stable. If you get meds your med card will be for 1 year

What type of physical and agility tests does Swift require? Can someone please give me some specific details? Thanks in advance.
