You go ahead and go Vegan all you want.
Me, I'm strictly a Cretan; Specializing in Corn Dogs and Pepperoni Pizza from Flying J.
Vegan? Life's too simple for such simplicity.
    What's next... Pornhub over Hamster?

Take it a step further and cut out the caffeine. You’ll hate yourself for about 2 weeks but after a month or two you’ll start feeling more awake all day. Give it a few months and you’ll wonder why you ever needed it to begin with. I still love coffee but do not miss the false energy. I was bogged down.

Is the vegan choice for animal welfare/environmental concerns? Or just because you believe it’s healthier?

If it’s purely for health reasons, maybe just look at changing your diet in a more balanced way. It’s atleast equally beneficial, if not more so, and easier to accomplish.

I’m not a perfect eater but I do my best to be conscious of what I eat from a health standpoint and environmental. I usually leave the house with atleast a dozen boiled eggs, a few lbs of venison jerky my wife makes, a weeks worth of organic soups, a tub of organic salad mix (everything but iceberg), some almonds, and maybe wheat thins/hummus or pretzels. It’s not perfect but I generally feel good and healthy

It’s all a sales pitch unless you raise it yourself or buy local. LOCAL. Why is it more convenient to buy something produced thousands of miles away vs something produced within a few hundred? Bass ackwards my friends

I don't know anything about vegan, but I do know and am taught to keep a standard hershey bar handy at all times in case the body fails to have it's energy for whatever reason (Usually related to blood sugar etc) Go through that bar, wait a few minutes and now you have the horses to go find a proper meal.

What do you substitute for the energy boost caffeine provides?

Limes are a better choice over lemons.

Lemons are a man-made fruit considered less alkaline.
