Going with Gordon!

Well I made my decision this week. Heading to Gordon. Got my CDL last week!!! Took my DOT physical and drug screen for Gordon yesterday. Just waiting on the bus ticket.

I go to Rancho Cucamonga on Oct 26th. Do the one day orientation then off I go. Will be with trainer for a month. Then up to Washington for a 2 day orientation, then get my own truck!

My trainer called me yesterday and introduced himself. He has been with Gordon for 3 years and driving since 1980. We talked for about 20 minutes. He seems like a real nice guy and cares about what he is doing and not in it for the extra money like a lot of trainers are! He is on a dedicated run from SoCal to Reno,NV. So I will be getting plenty of mountain driving!

Went and bought some things to take with me...since I live in AZ not too many places sell cold weather stuff. Just hope the bunk heater works! I don't want to bring too much stuff, it isn't my house!

I think its $325 per week during training.

I just called the recruiter for students. Valerie is her name. She emailed me an application which I filled out in ink and faxed back along with some supporting documentation. They are busy so YOU need to keep on top of it. Send whatever is asked of you immediately. Just like any other job, if you want it, you gotta show it! Make the phone calls, you may not get a hold of her right away, but she does return phone calls.
