Dont pay any attention to these Staff Members, most of them are wannabe burnouts. You can park a 53 footer just about anywhere. Hopefully you wont take out a stop sign, telephone pole, or parked car in the process - Ha Ha. There will be plenty of downtime with companies like Swift. Get permission from dispatch to drop your trailer at the shipper/receiver and bobtail to the gym.

I won't lower myself to respond to this yocal, (a wannabe burnout ?) but you cannot just park a 53' anywhere and dispatch just loves drivers calling in with personal requests to "drop their trailer" so they can go to the gym.

Assuming hubby is a newbie, which he probably is, most of these options won't be available to a company driver. Unless he has an apu he will probably be restricted to a 350w inverter as most companies I know of do not allow inverter installs due to risk of fire from improper installation. That rules out a 110v fridge and microwave though a 12 cooler is possible.

If they happen to give a non team driver a condo cab keep in mind you cannot just get rid of the mattress, they will want that back should you have to switch trucks.

Not being a naysayer just letting you know things may not be as easy as stated above.

Insulting the staff is not a very wise move.

Hey All, Hubby here. I am not new at this, maybe a little, but I have about 3 years under my belt and have already had my own rig and authority. Unfortunately the freight rates and an older rig made it a bit difficult to keep it running. So after a breif time away I am doing this again. I have gotten a truck into many places that most said it could not go, so I feel confident that we can make it into a parking lot large enough to handle gym and shopping traffic. You will be surprised with google maps and some internet searching that there are many gyms located only a few miles off a major freeway. If not we will have some weights in the truck as well. I thank those who have responded with appropriate comments and good advice. As far as the others (and there is always one) who have some off color comment to make, I am sorry you feel the need to say things of poor nature.

albhb3 and Lady K Thank this.
