I agree. In other words, not worth the hacker's time... lol :biggrin_25523:

PS: Then again two minutes is not much time....lol

So they used Windows Vista SP1 and then used Mac's OLD O/S? Doesn't seem like a fair contest to me. Leopard has been out since Nov 2007 - it should have been the O/S used on the Mac IMHO. This was obviously done to make Windows look good.

It was a MacBook Air, so it did have Leopard. There is some good news to take away from this. None of the computers were hacked on the first day when they only had access to the networks the computers were on.

Obviously the guy who hacked the Mac didn't start from scratch and got in it in two minutes. He already had the website with the malicious code setup and new it worked. He then emailed the link to the mac user and directed the user to click on it.

While a bit alarming that it works, saying the thing was hacked in two minutes is a bit misleading.

Also, no one was going at the other laptops on the second day until after the Mac had been taken down.

Now we just wait for a fix from Apple.

The hacker that won the MacBook Air, did in fact start from scratch. From the information he gained on the first day, he wrote the web page over night. None of the hackers could bring any prepaired software code.

Leo Leporte talked about this one last weekends show.

About an hour or so ago Apple released some updates that address the exploits found in this contest.

Conditions of the test, where that the OS developer would be give the exploit used and be able to release an update, before releasing how to the public.

Look, no OS is safe!!!! If a hacker wants in your system, they will find a way.

Apples security can from lack of market share, no one invested the time to hack an OS that was less then 5% of the market.

My last post was just simply stating that Apple has released updates related to the hack. Nothing more, nothing less.

Every one makes fun of Apple's market share in computer division. Except those that were sharp enough to invest in their stock. It has beat all the big PC boys for many years now. Mainly due to I-pods and the like. But the numbers that count don't lie.:biggrin_2559: Their stock is gold and Microsoft and the rest are stagnant. :biggrin_2552:
