Do the sockets snap in or hold in if tipped? The set I have now seems to let parts fall out and get mixed when turned over. Real waste of time to put it all back and makes me mad. ha ha

I plan on going to look at this set this weekend if I can get to it. MY craftsman set I have at home is similar to this. You have to open the top and then pop the two sides open to slide open the trays. Do you have any problems with anything mixing if gets tipped?

Yep. It actually doesn't have to tip. I have to sort thru sockets every time I use it. It's a decent set but I'd rather have one that kept everything in place all the time. Honestly though I don't think anyone makes a box set like that.

When I got mine a couple of years ago it was around Christmas time and Lowes had a big tool sale with, if I remember correctly, #### near half off on everything. I believe I only paid around a $100 for that set on sale.

That is gonna be my problem. Maybe when my new truck comes in it won't be the same kind of problem I have now. I have to move stuff to much in my 670 and tend to forget and mess up my sockets too much. I have the 860 coming hopefully in February. Will have a lot more room and hope to have a dedicated place for my tool box that then only moves when I am using it.

That’s why I use the rails for the sockets to snap onto , and use a soft side bag , so I can add a claw hammer , and a 2 or 3 lb hammer and some large and small screwdrivers , several sizes of vice grips , several sizes of chanell locks ,
I have a set of metric and American 1/4 , 3/8 , and 1/2 drive sockets, shallow and deep well , flashlight , strobe light . A led light that clips onto the brim of a hat ,
Sandpaper, electric tape , duct tape , gaffers tape , a half dozen air line fittings in every size and style including couplings and a few feet of air line including the tiny stuff that the gear shifter uses ,

I also keep some wire and butt connectors and ring terminals and a crimper
And a spare of every kind of light on the truck and trailer .
And a spare set of gladhand lines and a spare electrical cable

At least one gallon of oil and a gallon of coolant .

and a spare set of triangles , so I can leave them or give them to some driver that’s broken down and doesn’t have any

a lot of this stuff is available at a truck stop but 99% of the time you don’t have these problems in the parking lot of a truck stop .

They don't snap in, so they can shift around a little bit. I always carry and store it flat, never using the handle.

I was in Costco yesterday and they still have those sets. $99 for a 184 piece set. It's almost identical to that picture I posted but the layout of the case and the screwdriver handle are different. Before I bought it I went to Lowe's and HD to compare Craftsman, Kobalt, and Husky. Nothing was even close for cost. Set of the same size were around $50 more

I know what you mean about crappy cases. I have some craftsman sets that can be a jumbled mess. I 'fixed' that but cutting a towel to layer on top of the tools. It mostly works to keep them in place. That Dewalt set from Costco has been riding around in my pickup (vertically behind the seat) for a month, just opened it and there is one screwdriver bit not in place, my fault for not pushing it into the holder hard enough
