They make a few different styles, I've seen three nuts you put in first that center the rim then put the rest on, then remove the three and put lugs back on. I've also seen lug nuts with the same idea built right in.

If you think about it, if the rim sits off center by 1/32 of an inch then goes down the road it can really throw the rim out of balance.

This is true it doesn't take much. If you've ever had the misfortune of knocking a wheel weight off you know the pita it is to deal with the vibration. I've always wondered how that could work on a vertical axis though I would have always thought that as soon as the truck was sat down off the jack that the weight would force the rim against the studs.

I suppose if it works it's worth it. I've considered buying a set as I normally do my own tires now, but for the price of the kit I wouldn't be able to justify the cost unless we were losing a tire a week at which point I would no longer be running a truck because I'd be broke.

There's lug nuts that have a sleeve on them that center the wheel on the hub, there are two different types, one for single wheels and ones for duals.

sounds like those would be nice. Kinda seems like the same as a budd wheel though or around the same concept.

I put a set of Tru-Balance sleeves on my truck. Made the ride a heck of a lot smoother. And that was after Centramatics. They center the wheels and the brake drums. Three studs on each position get a sleeve, they stay in there. A smart installer will put some paint on the end of the studs they're on so you can find them when the wheels need to come off. It does make mounting wheels a little more work, but the ride improvement is worth the hassle. Also slather them up with anti-seize.

Ask around about alignment shops in your area. Just because a shop will sell you an alignment does not mean they are good at it. Nor even know what they are doing. Went through three to say my truck was within spec even though they could see improper tire wear. The last guy actually fixed it.

Got 2 Michelin xza3+ tires on order, and got word of a shop that can mount and balance them i guess and do a 3 axle aliment.. this shop has a very good reputation,, from the local drivers in my area... once these are on and rolling good, by fall I'll be looking into some new vigin rubber Drives. Was thinking going Michelin just to match the steers... I raised my drive tire pressure to 105 psi.. it handles nice but dang thats a rough ride lol..

Was offline for awhile because I had an issue with my front drive axle. A seal was leaking very badly and well lets say it wasn't pretty after 600 miles... that cost me a little bit of down time, and money... the joys of running your own truck i guess,,
