I was going to say the same thing.
Loads out of Fl pay about .90cpm and if you run flatbed you can get closer to $1.25 coming out. Then you can run whatever you want and getting home with Landstar will not be a problem cuz they have hundreds of loads going back into FL and most pay well over $2.50 a mile!!!!
For a Florida O/O I wouldn't even think about anyone else but Landstar
good 1st company to lease on with?

I like to say that my company is a stepping stone into getting your own authority. Happy to help drivers learn how to negotiate with brokers, learn the process of getting direct freight, making sure you understand the numbers for your business, and if needed help you with the process of getting your authority. I would love nothing more than several years down the road to have a bunch of independent O/O's that said they got their start towards independence with my company.
But as you already know the biggest issue is FL. Being willing to stay out will help and you are just going to take the hit coming out of FL.
PM me with contact information if working for a small company that pays percentage is of interest.FLORIDAHEAVYHAUL Thanks this. -
