Good thread! Tank washes are a thorn in my side. I don't much keep track of the amenities as much as the service they provide in cleaning your hoses, fittings, etc. My absolute favorite is the Qualawash in Coraopolis, PA, just outside of Pittsburgh. They have a dedicated area for washing the hoses, fittings, your pump, etc. And they don't just flush some lukewarm water through once and hand the hoses back to you. The guys that work there are dedicated to doing the best job possible. Every time I am there, I tell them they are the best. Sometimes, I think they're done, and I motion to them is it OK for me to take them, and they're like, "No, not done yet."
I also like the Kankakee Tank Wash in Kankakee, IL, and I've actually had good service from the guys at Express Trailer Svc in Keasbey. They never have kept me waiting on getting my hoses washed. But amenities, I don't know if they have any.
As far as bad service.....The Qualawash in Gibralter, IL (or maybe its Joliet, IL) is a joke, they completely ignore hoses until you ask how long and then one squirt of cold water that couldn't possibly have even touched every surface inside the hose and boom, they think it's done. Same with the Qualawash in West Memphis. Ignorant lazy guys who probably shouldn't have a job. I am also gonna mention Dedicated Tank Wash in Lansing, IL, but I actually think they are just OK. But I was there yesterday just dropping off a trailer and waiting for another work assignment from SNBC, when the Mgr of the place drives over in his Volvo sports car and invites me and a couple other drivers in to their break room where he has a hot catered lunch set up for his workers to mark the upcoming holiday. He opens up the soda machine and says help yourself. There's desserts too! After getting filled up he hands us all a nice winter cap and some pens and says Merry Christmas to you guys. Blew me away! Schneider does nothing for us for the holidays......regular pay, sit around waiting for work that isn't there, $65 layover pay. Ugh!
