I still like the Little Will although I will now seal both of mine with silicone. It will take 5 minutes. From what I just read from skelr in this thread, the Tram quality is bad

I don't have a mag-mount Wilson Lil Wil, but I have read a lot of reports that say it's a great performer for a 36-inch antenna. If I wanted an antenna in that three-foot class, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

I do have a couple of mag-mount Wilsons I use on my Jeep Wranger and F250: a 56-inch Wilson 500 and a 62-inch Wilson 1000. Both of these antennas have given great service and communicate very well. Although I've never had a problem with either, a few years ago I did mound a bit of silicone at the base-stinger junction in order to prevent any water intrusion. I applied the silicone due to reports of some Wilsons getting water inside. I don't know if it was actually necessary, but for the price of a dime's worth of silicone, what's to worry?

Sirio 5000..If you go with the base load or if you go with the taller mid load but order the bigger mag(5" diameter i think it is)replace the cheap coax with lmr 240 and amphonal ends plue sealing..It will work better than the elcheapo lil wi..

That's true: a 6.6-foot Sirio 5000 will outperform a 3-foot Lil Wil any day and almost in any way.

Antenna performance is concurrent with length: the longer, the better except, of course, when you can't fit a tallboy into your living spaces.

Thank you skellr for your opinion and recommendation. I will definitely take that into consideration as to which CB antenna to go with. By the way, is there a beginner CB antenna that you would recommend? Thanks again. tedd

Tedd..No such thing as beginer ant..They all work on same principles...
There are automotive type ant that will work at home but i dont think there are any for the home.or tower that will work on a moveing car/truck...
Im sure someone will confirm that one way or the other..I dont know about every ant made..

No, not really, either of those are good choices. They are good bang for the buck.

The coax isn't very good quality and is suceptible to kinks and sharp bends. Try not to run it out a door and then close the door on it, it won't last long doing that.

IMO, you can spend 3 to 4 times the money on something and be hard pressed to notice much difference. Maybe an increase in component quality, but not so much in performance.

Are you in an off road club or wanting to talk with people on the trail? It will work better than people that use bumper mounted antennas for sure.

    Partially true sometimes.
A 102 on top of a flagpole won't perform as well as a Little Will on the roof of a Chevy Suburban.
