Hi everyone I was just wondering if taking a job with a custom harvesting crew would be a good first job. I was also wondering if other companies would consider this experience or not. Thanks

I heard that if you drive for a farmer, or harvesting company it doesn't count as otr.

If it's a job TAKE IT! You'll still be getting driving experience ands some of those "farm" jobs can last a life time along with being home more often and lower costs f feeding yourself on the road. I wouldn't worry about the OTR crap right now. There was a wonderful news article on just today on Yahoo and Google transportation jobs in the news and see how bad it really is i trucking that the companies don't want you to know!

here's a link to the article! Good luck

That could be interesting, go for it. You might even find you like agriculture hauling and make some good contacts. Lots of cool stuff in that field (no pun intended). Then there's always the farmer's daughter thing........:biggrin_25523:

:biggrin_25525: I use to grow up on a farm in southern Wis. So my heart will always be there. Its was amazing how different things are in the cities. You would be shocked to find out what kids had not done even by my age at 8! I can remember every little detail. Plus there is the whole farmers daughter thing.... ohh the possibilities:biggrin_2559:
