now off for 4 days. going down to San Diego for a 3 day fishing trip

Black Cherry. It seems to be a popular choice.
It looks even better with the right sunlight.

Even better, it is a Cascadia with the DD15/DT12.
I've been stuck with International so long, and it is really nice to get back to something I really like.

 

Very nice.
I got stuck with a Costco load going to Duluth, MN with a 2000 live unload. I hate those late deliveries.
And in that area the only next load is always another Costco load, sticking me in a Costco loop.
They tried to get me to do a turnaround with another load delivering tonight in Duluth at 2000. I said no, and took one to Baxter, MN instead.

Well, my load going to Baxter, MN was voided 15 minutes after the pickup time.
Cancelled by the shipper... go figure.

I called a bit later and happened to get my TM.
He found me a nice load going from Chippewa Falls, WI to Van Buren, OH, so some nice miles. And it gets me out of Costco territory.
I'm happy again.

my comdata card expired on 6/30.
picked up a replacement card at dispatch window.
dl said to do a Mac 35 and if it came back as an error to send a Mac 13 to pay help to get it reactivated.
so got the error and sent in the Mac. went home.
got to Barstow ca at flying j and card wouldn't work.
took 3 hrs to get it done.
now just south of Cheyenne in Vegas, I blew a tire.
so stopped to make sure not excessive damage then crawled here to get off the freeway.
Morton has a tire shop and was on the Goodyear list. so now waiting my turn to get fix.
mudflap and bracket got bent over on top of tandems. so hope they can fix. just need to end the bracket back

 

That's some bad luck.

I was sent my new card in the mail a couple months ago.
I activated it a couple weeks ago.
The instructions that came with the card did not mention the mac 35 so it gave me an error.
No problem once I did the mac 35.

 

And right now I'm at the little truck stop next to the New Boston terminal in MI.
No loads, probably until Tuesday, so I will be sitting for a couple days.

 

Well, not sitting for a couple days.

There was a load I had turned down because I didn't like the times, but ended up taking it in the end.
When I showed up at 1300 for the 2200 pickup time the load was ready and I was on my way with plenty of time.

It is a load going to MN and there was a second pplan along with it, getting me back into IL.
Usually when I get something to MN I get stuck right back in that Owatonna Costco scene, but not this time.
It seems that, this week, life is sweet.

A very nice day today.

Going through Chicago on I-90 on a Monday at 0700, and no slowdowns. Speed limit all the way through.
Light traffic all day until about 30 miles from here, but still not that bad.

I spoke to my daughters, which are in the process of moving.
One of them took a vacation in Denver for the past month and got back about a week ago.
She mentioned that she had forgotten the charger for her computer, so she was without it and could not afford a new one.
Well, I said, I'm right here with a spare power supply. Come and get it.
(Not wanting to be out on the road if my power supply failed, I got a replacement and keep the original as my spare. I bought her the same computer a couple years ago.)

Funny how things just seem to work out.

And since this is the 4th, I just put on Independence Day.
