ummm really you want to be an O/O before you have driven??? their is lots of post on here about all this... all im gonna say is NO
Gizmo_Man Thanks this. -
Not only NO but HEIL NO! Give yourself a few years working for somebody else first! Suppose you do sign on the dotted line, then find out you HATE the job? Suppose you signed on the dotted line, and the economy goes further south? Suppose you signed up for a huge nut every week, and find you just DON'T MAKE ENOUGH MONEY to pay it off and still live?
We see this all the time. Companies will really try to push the lease down your throat as well. If anything, that is even worse for you.
Get with a company or an O/O who will hire you, and learn the ropes first. It is just common sense.Gizmo_Man and Flat Knuckle Thank this. -
Gotcha it just sounds good to be home when you want to
-
you will work more when you have your own truck, to cover the note and all cost with running the truck and then you have to live and pay your bills and with a company lease the truck comes first not you
Gizmo_Man Thanks this. -
Sure it SOUNDS good. But the hard cold fact is, that you still have that nut to make every week. THAT is what will determine if you get home or not. You aren't making any money while you are at home. But that truck payment will still be there. And if you get sick? Doesn't matter, that truck payment still has to be made.
When they are trying to talk you into a lease, outfits like England will promise you the moon. It means nothing. They will screw over you. -
Unless you're rich and can throw away money NO. You've got to know what you're doing before you can invest in a project like that and make money.
bullhaulerswife, Gizmo_Man and Hitman Thank this. -
How much dose a company driver usual make and how often do you get to come home
-
alll companies are going to differ but 30-40k your first year as a driver.. plan on being out 3 weeks at a shot unless you get a dedicated run or something similar
-
