im selling an old Ravens flatbed and a few people have asked me to rent it from me. I didn’t want to at first but now I’m thinking it’s not a bad idea to keep it for now so renting might work.
I know truckers rent trailers all the time but is there a legal way for one o/o to rent to another o/o? And limits my liability?
It’s a beat up trailer that I was selling for 10k so I’m not worried about trailer damage, just damage done BY the trailer to other property and it coming back on me.
Any thoughts? And what’s the going rate for all aluminum 48s?
Good or bad idea to rent my trailer out? How much do I charge?

The going rate for beat up $10k trailers has got to be pretty cheap, to the point of not being worth it: you can rent a nicely specced brand new one for $150-165 a week. Which is bout the same as a payment on the same trailer to buy.
SAR, stwik, Shock Therapy and 2 others Thank this. -
I'm paying $99.30 a week for a lease purchase on a 2008 Reitnouer. I wouldn't pay much more than that rent an old flatbed. If that sounds like good income, do it, otherwise dump the trailer.

Don’t rent it. If you don’t want it sell it.
This is a legal headache you don’t want. -
bzinger Thanks this.

I've been saving for a new flatbed but I think a lease purchase might be a better way to go. -
Google flatbed trailer leasing for your area.
