I think it is probably more so that different salesperson, different pricing. ;) Sure they each have their own marketing pitch.

A friend of mine got the radiator only for $935 back in March after they had a fire in a warehouse or something. They told me that they applied some insurance money toward that back then. Probably a line of .... & just a seasonal sale, but they were not dropping down near there & have been talking to them for a couple of weeks.

Anyway, it was important to me to buy U.S. made stuff, keep going out of my way trying to find just that & it gets harder & harder to even find it. Hope it all works out, have to run over & grab some anti freeze. Will post some pictures over the weekend of stuff when it comes in if anyone wants to see what they may be buying in the future.

Having the CAC tested, the spec is 35 lbs in and steady on the other side from air going in, then shut it off and wait 15 seconds any loss above 4 lbs in 15 seconds is a fail.
What I do is when you put on the preasure regulator on the right side, pressurize it and check all the connections, and check the intake manifold, then open the oil filler cap and listen and watch the blow-by that is valve guides and two cylinders.
    Just a thought!

Dura-lite is made in china and they use sand cast to make they're tanks. Ive personally never heard anything good about them. Ya they have all that warranty but i've heard its always the installers fault and they don't back it up.

You would think that if they were made in china they would have dealers in the far east.
I know a few guys that had them and never had a problem so the warrenty was never an issue.

I have had no trouble with my Duralite, either. I have had it for a few years now pushing 50 psi and no problems. The stock charge air cooler would last about 6 months before it would start splitting apart. So far , thumbs up for the Duralite.

Would highly recommend anyone who orders from these guys to break out the shipping separately, insist on paperwork before committing stating everything as I should have known better! As noted above, the price I was quoted was for the items shipped.

Ordered Thursday & according to the sales guy it would be in the driveway on Friday. So obviously got charged for overnight delivery on some fairly heavy items. Got a hold of them & they shipped it via Mid Pitt Express(I think) & it is now due to be here today(Monday) at some point.

Regardless am kind of thinking they owe me a few dollars back, ran a quote via Fed Ex & overnight vs. second day is approximately $250 difference on a single 100 lb package.

Yeah, that is a little sketchy on the all inclusive with shipping thing. I'd say they definitely owe you money, you could have had that stuff in there Saturday and been working the truck today.

Everything finally showed up around 2:30 this afternoon. Got to go get two hoses cut tomorrow morning then flush out the system & refill. A couple more bolts to turn, it gets dark to early to keep working on the thing in the driveway.

It all looks decent, BUT one reason I went with these guys is because everything was suppose to be made right here in the United States. The salesman even joked about "other" companies import stuff. Guess he hasn't looked at the boxes he is pushing because the Tag on the Condensor- made in Thailand, tag on the CAC-made in China, tag on the Radiator frame -made in Mexico. About the only thing Randall Industries/Detroit Radiator builds is the core just like everyone else.:biggrin_25510:
