@LoneCowboy, sounds like you really know the area and I would appreciate some advice. We have family in Colorado Springs and I've been wondering if there's any decent parking there, hopefully on the north side near Monument. Family is in the Briargate area. I'd get a load out there as often as possible if i could get out.
I don't mean to hijack so feel free to PM me. I appreciate it!
Good place to park for a 34 in Denver or Vail?

they just opened a brand new Pilot at the monument exit. (the one just south of the scales) And there's a mom and pop truck stop (older) on the north side. (both truck stops are on the west side of the freeway). It's better, it ain't much, but it's better.
They both full up completely at night.
Colorado Springs is enormous, actually the biggest city by acreage in Colorado. It's not my hood as much as Denver is, but there are tons of industrial/warehouse areas, i doubt anyone is going to bother you much. More north and east part of the city. (the south part is ummmmmmmmmm not as well behaved part of the city). Although out by the airport (SE part) there are some pretty empty industrial spots.86scotty Thanks this. -
There is a small truck stop north of the springs, used to be a total I think with a small parking lot, otherwise not much north of that except for the weigh station and another 10 miles or so a small rest area.

The rest area's north of the scales are closed. they are now chain stations (and only open when chain law in effect, gated off otherwise). And they just built a new Pilot at the same exit as that "Total". But that's it' until you get to commerce city. So if you don't have enough hours to make your destination in Denver, you better stop, cuz there is NOTHING after that.

Whenever I’m in Denver I try the Sapp Bros...
Normally it’s full by early afternoon. If you’re not afraid of street side parking try Sandown Road near the Kenworth MHC dealership. Parked there once, although I normally had work done by the shop, never had any issues and there’s ALWAYS trucks parked along that street. There’s a Quality Inn on Quebec Street near the Walmart/Home Depot that will put you in a room for 70/night if you show them your CDL. They have some sort of deal with the MHC...
The downside? Those trains are active. And they love their train horn.
It’s close to Quebec Square which I like. Might be a little expensive for some but I’ve never been disappointed by the Famous Dave’s bar...
Anything else id suggest in Denver is a typical truck stop. Johnson’s Corner ain’t bad. But it’s a typical Petro.farmboy73 Thanks this. -
watch out for those Bronco fans there in Denver...…...even if you don't like them, pretend you do.

I finally got a bronco shirt, bought it out of the second hand store. Been a fan for decades, everyone needs a good comedy.

I got stuck on the rest area by Vail one winter (its the one that you go out the same way you came in and you have to go down a hill and back up a hill). The hill going up out of the rest area was too icy and I literally kept sliding back down, first time throwing chains just to get out of a rest area lol
