Too many bad things to list them all soo i'll give a few.Bad pay,too much sitting, the unreasonable laws which causes the low pay also.Trks are governed for most companies too slow. Can't find the place you're picking up or delivering too.Under close eye with your company and the DOT.Recruiters lie or stretch the truth.Trcking has the highest turnover rate because of these reasons and hidden reasons that the recruiter failed to mention like the lease program.Crenglands success leasing rate is 90% and most fail at it.Reason ppl lease is because no company trks available for weeks on up to months, gee imagine that.

I would avoid pulling a reefer at any cost. your going to have appointments to load and unload. your going to have to pay many hundreds of dollars to get loaded and unloaded at various cold storage warehouses. your going to spend countless uncompensated time getting the trailer washed out. you will get jerked around about pallets constantly. the list is endless.

As a company driver pulling reefer, I have to say I've never been affected by the issues mentioned in #3. Just goes to point out not all trucking jobs are the same throughout. Who you work for makes all the difference in the world. Yes, reefer deals with more appointments then van, who deal with more appointments then flatbed, but appointments are a part of trucking, period. All lumper charges are paid by the carrier and I have never dealt with pallet issues and 80% of the reefer loads are d/h where the customer handles the wash-out.

Read too fast, lol.Reefer you have ungodly midnite appts in tight warehouses. They work weekends, alot of places for van aren't open on the weekends so u can take your time.Alot of places that unload reefer hires lumpers. They like to take their sweet time unloading you.You could be sitting in the dock for hr before they even touch your trl.Sure reefer pays more but ill take the couple cents less and stick to van if I was to go back OTR.

Disagree with ya there P on last sentence. Not only Reefer pay MORE than few cents better it opens up 4 different other freights you can haul when in middle of nowhere looking for a load. A lot less deadhead included.
